Through the Lens is a celebration of Everett’s founding and the intrepid people who recorded it.  The exhibition  includes  hundreds of  photographs  dating from  the late 19th through the  mid-20th century from  the Museum’s substantial collection.

From the earliest photographs of a small town on the banks of the resource rich Puget Sound to images exploring the growth of Everett into an industrial powerhouse and home to a full-scale city, Through the Lens showcases the professional and amateur photographers who documented those changes and who, by default, have become cultural historians informing our interpretation of past events. Early settlement, industry, military, portraiture, and retail photography are among the wide range of subjects included in the exhibition.

Through the Lens is the first of many pop-up exhibitions the Everett Museum of History has planned. With over 50,000 artifacts, ranging from large-scale industrial machinery to tiny decorative objects, and everything in-between, the Museum’s collection is a glimpse into our area’s important cultural history.
