your ideas. your heritage. your museum.
The Everett Museum of History, previously the Snohomish County Museum and Historical Society, serves the City of Everett community through leadership and collaborations with local organizations and the operation of the Museum. We strive to educate all demographics about their cultural heritage and enhance the lives of youth and adults by providing educational programming that appeals to everyone. The Museum engages individuals who both have an interest in historical preservation as well as those who are new to the idea and to entertain them with new and unusual programs and exhibitions. The organization works to evolve and preserve the permanent collection, as well as evolve the idea of what a historical museum is to a community.
While the Museum has been located in several buildings since its inception in 1954, it never had a permanent home for the over 65,000 artifacts that would allow it to be a destination museum until now.
With the goal of opening in 2019, the museum has purchased the original Everett Herald Building at 2939 Colby Avenue and will be renovating to create a dynamic museum for our community.
